| Day 6 - 10/7/04

Not a bad place to spend the night.....

Lush green and plenty of water...

Clear skies give little evidence of the bucketloads of rain that fell overnight.

Craig's 100 doing it easy in the slush.

The adventurers stop for a break on their way to Old Andado.

A good deal of standing water but the track was firm.

Peter takes a conservative approach. This was a rare occasion....

Dave's heavily loaded 120 Series behaved itself in the wet and muddy conditions.

Until of course it became really sloppy in one small section..

Dave's running out of tyre clearance. The mud packs up and fills the guards.

A wee stop on firm sandy ground.

An old and rusting relic of steam travel. These dot the old Ghan railway and were part of a desalination plant to supply steam engines with water.

Brooom brooom chuff chuff... There's something about machinery that brings the boy out in any man.

Old Andado station.

The homestead dating back to the days when outback travel was a life threatening proposition. It's the women that did it tough in those days - as Moly will testify.

Radio equipment, the vital link to the outside world makes for a pretty place to add a woman's touch.

Happy campers with reasonable facilities.

Even hot water....
